Description – Baker Boys Apple & Berry Crumble Slice 300g

Baker Boys Apple & Berry Crumble Slice 300g is a layered fruit dessert slice featuring a tart apple and berry filling, a shortcrust-style base, and an oaty crumble topping. It is designed to deliver a balance of fruit sweetness, biscuit structure, and crunchy texture in a ready-to-eat format suitable for everyday enjoyment.

The fruit filling is the core of the product, made using apple (10%), blackberry (4.5%), blackcurrant concentrate, sugar, flavouring, and stabilising ingredients. The filling also contains humectants, thickeners, acidity regulators, and preservatives to maintain consistency and shelf stability. This creates a soft, slightly thick fruit layer with a tart-sweet flavour profile that combines apple freshness with berry richness.

The apple component provides mild sweetness and soft fruit texture, while blackberry and blackcurrant add deeper berry notes and slight tartness. Together, they create a balanced fruit filling that feels bright and refreshing compared to heavier chocolate-based slices.

The base layer is a classic shortcrust-style biscuit made using wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil, salt, milk solids, emulsifiers, raising agents, and flavouring. Beef fat is also included, contributing to richness and a more traditional bakery-style pastry profile. This base provides structure and a slightly firm bite that supports the moist fruit filling above it.

The topping is a traditional kiwi-style oaty crumble made using rolled oats, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, and supporting baking ingredients. This layer provides a crunchy, slightly chewy texture that contrasts with the soft fruit filling beneath. The oats add body and a rustic texture, enhancing the homemade-style crumble experience.

From a texture perspective, Baker Boys Apple & Berry Crumble Slice delivers a three-layer experience: a firm biscuit base, a soft fruit centre, and a crunchy oaty crumble top. This combination creates variety in every bite and prevents the product from feeling one-dimensional.

From a flavour perspective, the slice balances tartness and sweetness. The fruit filling provides tangy berry notes, while the crumble and base add sweetness and richness. The overall profile is lighter and fruit-forward compared to chocolate or caramel slices, making it suitable for consumers who prefer fruit-based desserts.

The 300g pack format is designed for convenience and sharing. It is pre-portioned for easy serving, making it suitable for households, workplaces, and casual gatherings. No preparation is required, allowing for immediate consumption.

Overall, this product delivers a traditional fruit crumble slice experience combining apple and berry filling with a biscuit base and oaty crumble topping.
