Description – Ouma Rusks Muesli – 500g

Ouma Rusks Muesli – 500g is a traditional South African baked rusk product enriched with a muesli blend to enhance texture and flavour. Produced by Ouma, one of South Africa’s most iconic baked goods brands, these rusks are designed for dipping into tea or coffee and enjoying as a slow, satisfying snack.

The recipe is based on a classic rusk dough made from wheat flour, sugar, vegetable fat, and raising agents. To this traditional base, a muesli mix is added, containing raisins, oats, wheat bran, roasted peanuts, and coconut. This combination creates a layered texture and flavour profile that is richer and more varied than standard rusks.

The rusks are baked until dry and firm, creating a long-lasting crunchy texture ideal for dunking. When dipped into hot beverages, they soften gradually while maintaining structure, delivering a balanced contrast between crunch and softness.

The flavour profile is mildly sweet with nutty, fruity, and grain-like undertones from the muesli components. Raisins provide natural sweetness, oats and bran contribute earthy notes, and coconut adds a subtle tropical richness. The roasted peanuts enhance depth and texture.

Ouma is a heritage South African brand with a long-standing reputation for quality rusks. Its products are strongly associated with the “Dip ’n Ouma” tradition, a cultural ritual that has been enjoyed across generations.

In the New Zealand imported biscuit and rusk category, Ouma Muesli Rusks provide a more wholesome alternative to standard sweet biscuits. They are particularly appealing to consumers looking for textured, filling snacks with breakfast-style ingredients.

The 500g pack size is suitable for regular household use, offering multiple servings for breakfast or tea-time consumption.
