Description – Pams Fresh Green & Red Cos Mix 120g

Pams Fresh Green & Red Cos Mix is a carefully proportioned blend of two cos lettuce varieties: green cos (60%) and red cos (40%). Cos lettuce, also known as romaine, is recognised for its elongated leaves, crisp structure, and refreshing bite, making it a popular base for salads and fresh meals.

Green cos provides a firm, crunchy texture with a clean, mild flavour that works well as a salad foundation. Red cos contributes a slightly softer texture with subtle earthy undertones and a deeper colour profile, enhancing both visual appeal and taste complexity. Together, they create a balanced salad mix that offers both structure and freshness.

The leaves are harvested at peak freshness and prepared for convenience, allowing for immediate use without washing or chopping. This ready-to-eat format significantly reduces preparation time and supports fast, healthy meal creation in busy households.

The flavour profile is light, fresh, and mildly sweet, making it suitable for a wide variety of dressings and ingredients. It pairs well with proteins such as chicken, tuna, eggs, and cheese, as well as grains, nuts, and roasted vegetables.

In Australian kitchens, this cos mix is commonly used in salads, wraps, burgers, and sandwich fillings. It also serves as a base for more complex meal bowls, where it adds crunch and freshness to heavier ingredients.

Nutritionally, cos lettuce is naturally low in calories and contains dietary fibre, water content, and vitamins A and K, supporting balanced diets and general wellbeing. Its light profile makes it suitable for everyday consumption without adding heaviness to meals.

Storage is best maintained under refrigeration to preserve crispness and freshness. When properly stored, the mix remains usable for several days, making it suitable for weekly meal planning.
