Description – Wilcox Perlas Potatoes 1.5kg

Wilcox Perlas Potatoes 1.5kg are premium New Zealand-grown new-season potatoes known for their smooth skin, pale yellow flesh, and naturally creamy texture. The Perlas variety is classified as a waxy potato, meaning it has lower starch content compared to Agria or other roasting varieties, allowing it to hold its shape well during cooking.

These potatoes are carefully selected for uniform size and quality, ensuring consistent cooking results across a wide range of dishes. The thin, delicate skin does not require peeling in many recipes, making them convenient for quick meal preparation. When cooked, the flesh remains firm yet tender, offering a smooth, buttery mouthfeel.

Perlas potatoes are especially popular in salads, boiled dishes, and light roasting applications. They maintain structure when sliced, making them ideal for potato salads, warm side dishes, and gourmet plating. Their natural creaminess also makes them suitable for light mashing when a dense, smooth texture is preferred.

As a new-season variety, Perlas potatoes are harvested early, meaning they are fresher, more delicate, and often more flavourful than stored potatoes. This contributes to their slightly sweet, fresh taste profile that works well with herbs, olive oil, butter, and light seasoning.

Wilcox, a trusted New Zealand produce brand, ensures consistent quality and freshness in every pack. The 1.5kg size is ideal for small to medium households, providing enough quantity for multiple meals while maintaining optimal freshness.
