Description – Wilcox Red Jackets Potatoes 2kg

Wilcox Red Jackets Potatoes 2kg are premium red-skinned potatoes known for their vibrant red exterior and golden yellow flesh. A long-standing Kiwi favourite, Red Jackets are selected for their excellent cooking performance, consistent texture, and rich flavour profile.

Ingredients: Potatoes

These potatoes are naturally waxy-to-all-purpose in structure, allowing them to perform well across multiple cooking methods. Their red skin is thin and smooth, while the inside flesh is golden, soft, and creamy when cooked. This combination makes them visually appealing and highly versatile in the kitchen.

Red Jackets are especially well known for roasting and baking, where they develop a crispy outer layer while maintaining a fluffy interior. They also perform well when mashed, producing a smooth, golden mash with a rich, comforting texture.

When boiled, they hold their shape reasonably well, making them suitable for salads and side dishes. Their flavour is mild, slightly earthy, and naturally balanced, allowing them to pair well with herbs, butter, oils, and seasoning blends.

The red skin is edible and adds both texture and nutritional value, meaning peeling is often unnecessary for many recipes. This also helps reduce preparation time in busy households.

Nutritionally, Red Jackets are a source of carbohydrates for energy and are naturally free from fat, sugar, and sodium.
